Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Gunfight

On Thursday, July 30, 2015, deputies from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office assisted in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle taken in the Millersburg area near I-70 east of Columbia. The pursuit started in the Lake Ozark area and continued west through Lake Ozark and Osage Beach where the suspect vehicle was partially disabled with stop-sticks. The pursuit continued west through Linn Creek, Camdenton, Macks Creek and ultimately ended in Hickory County where at least one of the occupants of the stolen vehicle fired several shots from a firearm at an occupied civilian vehicle parked on the side of the road. Occupants of the stolen vehicle then exchanged gunfire with law enforcement officers and wrecked the car in a roadside ditch.

Both suspects were injured during the exchange of gunfire, taken into custody and transported to area hospitals for medical treatment. No one in the civilian vehicle parked on the side of the road were injured. No law enforcement officers were injured in the exchange of gunfire.

Law enforcement officers from the MSHP, CCSO, Osage Beach Police, Linn Creek Police and Camdenton Police Departments were involved in the pursuit.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting the crime scene investigation and will be pursuing charges on the suspects involved.
