Response to Burglary Call Leads to Arrest – Sunrise Beach

In the early morning hours of Friday 10-30-15, Camden County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a neighbor’s call of a suspicious vehicle at a residence in the 100 block of Bluffview Dr in Sunrise Beach. According to the neighbor, the owner of the home was out of state at the time of the incident.

Deputies on scene observed signs of forced entry into the residence and after obtaining a search warrant for the property, located one suspect hiding in a vehicle belonging to the homeowner.

Thirty-seven year old Matthew Duane Valentine, of Camdenton, was arrested at the scene and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility.

Valentine is charged with the Class C Felony of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and the Class D Felony of Resisting Arrest and is being held on a $50,000 surety bond. The investigation into the initial burglary call is ongoing.
