Arson Fires

03/24/2017

On 03/23/2017 several roadside set fires reported throughout the day in areas in and around Climax Springs, to include Coffman Bend.  Many of these intentionally set fires spread, endangering lives and property (structures), including homes, barns and a power substation.

Fire personnel were activated from around the area, Northwest, Coffman Bend, FF14/17 and other fire agencies placed on standby.  Law Enforcement also responded:  Camden County Sheriff’s Department, Benton County Sheriff’s, and Missouri State Highway Patrol.  Missouri Department of Conservation and the Forestry Department also assisted in attempting to contain the multiple fires.

A person(s) of interest, and who is also believed to have thrown objects at a passing fire truck, is being sought.  The subject(s) is believed to be male, driving a grey or silver early 2000 pickup truck.  This vehicle was involved in a pursuit with a Camden County Deputy.  The pursuit was terminated in the area of Fiery Fork off north Hwy 7, Climax Springs.
