Hazardous Weather Outlook

There is a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued from the National Weather Service today through tonight.  Weather hazards expected are:  Limited tornado risk, elevated hail risk, elevated thunderstorms with wind damage, elevated lightening risk.  

A strong storm system will bring strong to potentially severe thunderstorms to the area later this afternoon and tonight.  The greatest risk for severe storms will occur between 5pm and midnight mainly along and west of the Highway 65 corridor.  The storms will spread across all of the Missouri Ozarks but will gradually diminish later this evening.

The most intense storms will be capable of producing large hail up to the size of golfballs and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph.  There is a limited risk for a tornado.
