NEW LOOK TO ROADWAY SIGNS

Mike Lloyd with Mapping and Addressing has been receiving numerous calls reference the inability to read roadway signs at higher speeds.  The problem is that the longer the street name, the more narrow the font.  By federal regulations, the board of a sign must be at least 12" wide areas where the posted speed limit is 45 mph and up and 9" wide where the posted limits are under 45 mph.

After much trial and error, Mike came up with a viable solution to many of the road sign visibility issues.

If you ever have any concerns about the visibility of your street signs, give Mapping and Addressing a call at 573-346-2243 x 298 or 297.
