BURGLARIES AND THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office has taken approximately 12,545 calls for service since August 2017.  Of those calls for service, approximately 61 Burglary Reports, 122 Stealing Reports, multiple Vehicle Tampering Reports and 18 Vehicle Theft Reports.

The majority of the burglaries have occurred in the Climax Springs and Edwards communities of Camden County and have extended into Benton County.

On 11/4/2017 at approximately 2:39 am, a Camden Deputy responded to a disturbance at a residence on Lake Park in Camden County.  An owner of a vehicle discovered that a subject, Austin Tabor, age 20 of Richland, had unlawfully entered the home owner’s vehicle and was stealing property found within.

Tabor was charged with two misdemeanor counts of Possession of Marijuana, 2 counts of a Class D Felony Stealing, 1 count Class A Misdemeanor Stealing and 1 count Class D Misdemeanor Stealing.  Tabor posted a $2000.00 bond.

Phillip Wayne Carter, age 20 of Richland, an accomplice in the attempted theft, was also arrested. Carter was charged with 1 count Class D Felony stealing, 1 count Class D Felony Receiving Stolen Property, 1 count Class A Misdemeanor Stealing, and 3 counts Class D Misdemeanor Stealing, cash bond $3000.00.

It was admitted to Investigators that over 200 vehicles have been unlawfully entered.

More arrests are pending and the Investigation Continues.
