11/14/2024
Camdenton, MO - 11-14-24 - Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, 11-13-24, Camden County detectives responded to the Lake Career and Technical Center after Mid-County Fire Protection District firefighters discovered bones inside a vehicle they were using for an extrication demonstration.
LCTC staff immediately removed students from the area. Camden County detectives examined and then seized the bones. After consulting with Southwest Forensics Medical Examiner investigators and the Missouri Department of Conservation biologists, the bones were determined to be those of a deer.
The sheriff's office responds to calls concerning found bones regularly. In most cases the bones turn out to be from a deer or some other animal. We encourage anyone who finds bones that are not obviously animal in origin to contact our office or the Missouri Department of Conservation.
We would like to thank the staff at LCTC and the Camdenton RIII School District for notifying our office of this incident.
